BELMONT, New Hampshire - The Lodge at Belmont in New Hampshire's Lakes Region announces the suspension of live greyhound racing for the 2009 summer season. The state of New Hampshire recently approved legislation that allows racetracks the option not to run live racing, while maintaining their simulcast offerings. The Lodge at Belmont has elected not to run live racing in 2009.
The Lodge at Belmont offers year-round simulcast thoroughbred, harness and greyhound racing, as well as telephone wagering. It features Blues-ology Bar & Restaurant, serving lunch and dinner with daily specials every Wednesday through Sunday. The Lodge is open every day of the week at 11 a.m.
Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, Let It Ride and Three Card Poker cash games and Poker tournaments are offered every Wednesday-Sunday. Hours: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.; Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 1:00 a.m. (Closing times subject to change based on attendance.) All tournaments and cash games benefit local New Hampshire charities certified by the state of New Hampshire.
